Soil carbon baselining at no upfront cost

Regenerate Outcomes provides repeat soil carbon baselining and monitoring. Be rewarded for the environmental benefits you are creating on your farm.

  • We provide your farm with a laboratory-based soil carbon baseline when you join the programme.

  • We then measure soil carbon every five years and monitor changes to farm emissions. These measurements follow the Verified Carbon Standard, ensuring long-term scientific validity.

  • Gains in your soil carbon and reductions in farm emissions are measured to generate carbon credits.

  • You can then keep the carbon credits or sell them for additional income.

  • Regenerate Outcomes covers the upfront cost of the measurement, verification and sale of carbon credits. We retain 33% of carbon credit revenue in return to cover our costs, subject to a minimum soil carbon increase.

Why you need a soil carbon baseline

Farmers are in the unique position of being able to remove carbon from the atmosphere by building soil organic matter. This can help address climate change while producing quality food.

A measured soil carbon baseline is the first step to realising the value of the carbon you are sequestering.

Until you get a baseline you will not be able to generate credits from any increase in soil carbon.

A baseline does not commit you to selling carbon credits. However, it does give you the option.

Delaying your baseline means you can’t prove soil carbon gains, losing potential value for your farm.

The baselining process

Regenerate Outcomes works with Agricarbon, who provide high integrity soil carbon baselining and monitoring.

  • Surveys include the collection of physical soil samples taken from multiple locations up to a maximum depth of 60cm.

  • Agricarbon use automated and robotic laboratory systems to ensure repeatable and accurate soil carbon analysis. Their services are the best in the UK and are now in demand globally.

“We really wanted a record of the soil health so that we could monitor the impact that our management change was going to have. It would have been completely cost prohibitive for us to do that ourselves. We would never have been able to do it without Regenerate Outcomes.”
