We work with Understanding Ag, the world’s leading soil health mentoring team. Understanding Ag are led by Gabe Brown and Dr. Allen Williams.

You will benefit from regular one to one mentoring sessions focussed on reducing input costs, improving soil, plant and animal health, and maximising farm profitability.

The Understanding Ag team are farmers with an advanced knowledge of soil science and they have a proven track record across all environments and farming systems.

The data and mentoring services provided by the programme help you to make informed decisions. No farming activity is prescribed by the programme – you make decisions that best fit your management system and context.

We will monitor the environmental benefits of your farming to create carbon credits. Our goal is for you to receive the majority share of any credits produced by your farm. You can choose to sell the credits, or retain them to use as you see fit.

You cannot generate carbon credits from your farming practices until a soil carbon baseline has been carried out on your farm according to an accepted standard.

Regenerate Outcomes creates the highest integrity carbon credits via the Verified Carbon Standard. Over one billion credits have been sold via this award-winning standard since 2007.

As part of the Verified Carbon Standard we’ll carry out soil organic carbon stock sampling on your farm every five years. Samples are taken at multiple depths down to 60cm to ensure a statistically robust baseline. The scientific methods to collect and analyse these samples are well established and ensure that your baseline will stand the test of time.

You will benefit from a package of soil biology tests which we'll help you to interpret to maximise your soil health gains. The programme also monitors the benefits to habitats and biodiversity which result from your regenerative practices.

In addition to working alongside Understanding Ag you will benefit from regular online and local on-farm events where you can share ideas and knowledge with like-minded farmers.

All of our services are provided at no up-front cost. In exchange, the programme retains a share of revenues to cover the costs of providing services to your farm.

If you leave the programme early you will not be required to repay any costs nor return any revenue that has already been paid to you

The Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside Stewardship schemes are also encouraging farming practices which improve soil health. The Regenerate Outcomes programme was started with the support of a DEFRA grant and has been designed to fit alongside SFI and CS options on your farm.
